Pfullendorf / Eltmann, March 18, 2026 – Numerous colleagues took part in the first aid training sessions at our Pfullendorf and Eltmann locations to refresh their knowledge and gain confidence in handling emergency situations—for everyday work and beyond.
Even in the theoretical part, it became clear how important the right basics are: self-protection is the top priority, hazards must be recognized quickly, and accident sites must be properly secured. The chain of survival – from the emergency call to initial care – was also discussed in depth. But it became particularly impactful during the practical exercises.
Here, participants were able to get active themselves: checking consciousness and breathing, applying the recovery position, performing CPR, and practicing the use of a defibrillator. The resuscitation in particular left an impression on many: two minutes of chest compressions can feel surprisingly long and are significantly more exhausting than you might think.
In addition to classic measures, typical emergencies such as heart attacks, strokes (FAST principle), shortness of breath, or seizures were also addressed. An important point: in an emergency, address specific individuals – for example, to place the emergency call. This prevents a situation where no one in a group feels responsible.
What made the training special, however, was not just the content, but also the atmosphere. In an open and supportive environment, everyone learned, practiced, and laughed together. The group work not only imparted knowledge but also strengthened team cohesion. Many participants took the opportunity to get to know each other better and support one another.
In the end, one thing remains above all: a strengthened sense of security. The training raises awareness for recognizing emergency situations faster and acting correctly – both in the company and in private life. Because one thing is clear: emergencies can happen anytime and anywhere.
This makes it all the more important to be prepared – for yourself and for others.
