Ideas shared and perspectives connected - how successful the ONE SPIE Trade Fair 2026 was for us

At the ONE SPIE Trade Fair 2026, practical AI, diverse perspectives, and genuine exchange came together – with concrete insights, new contacts, and impulses for collaboration across company boundaries.

Pfullendorf, April 30, 2026 – When colleagues from very different areas meet, share ideas, and think further together, exactly what #OneSPIE stands for emerges. At the ONE SPIE Trade Fair on March 26, 2026, representatives from business, science, and politics came together. The EUREF Campus in Düsseldorf provided the perfect setting: open, modern, and made for exchange. Here, people discussed, networked, and experimented – across professional and company boundaries.

Right in the middle: Our SPIE AUTOMATION colleagues. Dr. Michael Kröhn (AI Specialist / R&D), Mark Oliver Passauer (Head of Digitalization Solutions / Authorized Signatory), and Thorsten Kulik (Head of Sales) were on site and showed what innovation can look like with SPIE Automation GmbH at your side – from automation and classic engineering, to machine and plant relocation, to AI applications that deliver real added value.

Hands-on AI: A look into the AI Lab
In the AI Lab, much revolved around a topic that’s currently on everyone’s agenda: artificial intelligence. The focus was on the question of how AI can be used in practice. In his presentation, Michael showed what impact artificial intelligence has on industrial services. Together with our digitalization expert Mark, he then continued the topic and presented an AI agent for data analysis using the example of our self-developed product E.RAMP.

We demonstrated our AI agent in various application scenarios and sparked many conversations – especially about how companies can use their data meaningfully and what added value such solutions actually bring.

Particularly exciting: The conversations came from very different directions. From internal colleagues to external partners – everyone wanted to understand what using such an agent looks like, how complex the implementation is, and what technology lies behind it.

Broad spectrum, many entry points
Those who stopped by the booth at the same time met our sales specialist Thorsten. He is an important interface at SPIE AUTOMATION between (new) customers and our project specialists.

The conversations were extremely diverse – from automation to digital solutions to specific questions about plant relocations. Everyone had a different perspective, but that’s exactly what made the exchange so valuable.

While colleagues within the SPIE cosmos were particularly interested in topics like electrical design, control cabinet construction, or assembly support, customers were more focused on individual software solutions, automation concepts, and the combination with AI.

ONE SPIE in practice: Networking that lasts
What made the trade fair special was not just the professional input, but above all the togetherness. That’s exactly what the #OneSPIE idea is all about: bringing groundbreaking projects to life together, regardless of affiliation to business units or location in Germany. A special highlight in this context were the green trade fair shirts, which immediately created a sense of unity.

You could tell everywhere: People were eager to exchange ideas. Whether feedback on the data platform or spontaneous conversations – real connection points for collaboration emerged from this.
