30 Years of SPIE AUTOMATION: A Summer Party for the Whole Family

Pfullendorf, July 18, 2026 – A festively decorated entrance area with a large balloon arch, children’s laughter, the aroma of freshly grilled burgers and fries, and cheerful people everywhere: The start of SPIE AUTOMATION’s anniversary summer party couldn’t have been better. For the 30th anniversary, SPIE AUTOMATION colleagues came together in Pfullendorf to celebrate this special milestone.

To kick things off, Managing Directors Rudolf Rauch, Reiner Hafen, and Ulf Kaiser, together with Business Unit Manager André Panné, welcomed the numerous guests. Particularly nice: families were also invited and could take a look behind the scenes that evening and get to know their loved ones’ workplace from a completely new perspective.

In a brief retrospective, the Managing Directors reviewed the company’s development. 30 years ago, the foundation was laid in Überlingen on Lake Constance for what is now SPIE AUTOMATION. Since then, the company has continuously evolved. With the merger of five companies to form SPIE Automation GmbH last year, the most recent milestone was set. Afterwards, the Department Heads introduced themselves. Present were Konstantinos Baltzis, Achim Fischer, Manfred Hirt, Robert Lambertz, as well as the new Department Heads at the Haßfurt location, Uwe Schweinfest and Nico Rieger. For Lukas Mayer, who took over as Department Head of mechanical design in Pfullendorf at the beginning of the month, it was also his first summer party in his new role.
