SPIE AUTOMATION at La Parisienne

Four colleagues from SPIE AUTOMATION took part in La Parisienne in Paris and experienced seven kilometers full of team spirit, solidarity, and special moments. Beyond the run itself, the focus was on meeting colleagues from various SPIE locations and the shared weekend in Paris.

Paris, September 13, 2026 – La Parisienne is more than a run through Paris. Every year, thousands of women come together to make a statement for solidarity and the support of women. The roughly seven kilometers lead right through the French capital – past famous landmarks and through the heart of Parisian city life.

This year, four colleagues from SPIE AUTOMATION took part: Anja and Daniela from the Gescher location, and Leonie and Alessia from the Pfullendorf location. A total of 370 colleagues from the SPIE Group took to the starting line, 112 of them from SPIE Germany Switzerland Austria.

For our four runners, the idea behind the run was paramount: to support women, to empower women, and to make a statement together. Of course, the four also prepared for the seven kilometers accordingly: Leonie and Alessia went jogging after work or during their lunch break. Anja and Daniela ran their laps together after work. For Anja, her regular football training provided additional exercise.

For us, the main focus was on supporting women and making a statement together.

A Weekend in Paris

Before our four colleagues headed to the starting line, they explored the French capital: alongside the Louvre and Eiffel Tower, there was also plenty of time to stroll together through the streets of Paris. Back at the hotel, they picked up their starter kits before heading straight to the big gala that evening.

Under the theme “An Evening in the Tropics,” everyone ate, laughed, and celebrated together. In addition to a saxophone performance and a photo booth, there were various creative stations. Among other things, participants could design their own comb. When the dance floor opened later, Anja and Daniela didn’t need much convincing.

The gala was also a great opportunity to meet colleagues from the various SPIE companies and strike up conversations. Very much in the spirit of the #ONESPIE idea. Eventually, though, it was time for bed, because the alarm went off early the next morning.

The solidarity of SPIE and the OneSPIE spirit was palpable everywhere.

Seven Kilometers Through Paris

On Sunday, the SPIE runners met as early as 7 a.m. After a joint warm-up, they were off: seven kilometers through Paris. Past the Eiffel Tower, along the Seine, and down the Champs-Élysées, music, bands, drummers, and the many people lining the streets created a special atmosphere. In their green SPIE jerseys, the SPIE runners were impossible to miss.

Lots of people stood on the street and cheered us on. There were signs, bands, and drummers – the atmosphere was just really great.

Once they crossed the finish line, the well-deserved medal was a must. But even more valuable were the memories our colleagues took home: crossing the finish line together, the relief after the final kilometers, and many good conversations during the shared wind-down afterward. And would the four run La Parisienne again? Absolutely.

It was a wonderful feeling to finally arrive – especially because we made it as a team. In my opinion, everyone at SPIE should take the opportunity to participate in La Parisienne at least once. It was an unforgettable and enriching experience.
